Teen Arrested After Fatal Shooting of 14-Year-Old in St. Petersburg

In a heartbreaking incident that has shaken the St. Petersburg community, a 14-year-old boy, Gaige Santos-Brown, was fatally shot on Friday evening. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. in the 4200 block of 15th Avenue South, according to the St. Petersburg Police Department.

Santos-Brown was approached by three teenagers, and during the altercation, shots were fired, critically injuring him. He was transported to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives quickly identified 16-year-old Kenneth Washington as one of the suspects involved in the shooting. Washington was arrested overnight and has been charged with felony murder and violation of supervised release.

Ongoing Investigation
