Arizona Kicks Off Final Week of Spring Practices at Tomey Field

Arizona football opened the final week of spring practice Tuesday morning at Dick Tomey Field, with a series of organized drills and position work captured during the April 21, 2026 session. Coaches and players focused on fundamentals and situational reps as the spring program winds down, giving veterans and newcomers alike a chance to sharpen technique before the offseason break.

On the field, running backs coach Lyle Moevao watched closely as Kedrick Reescano (3) finished an offensive drill, while running back Anthony Wilhite (28) and Reescano engaged in physical rep work. Quarterback Noah Fifita (1) completed several passes during team drills, and wideout DJ Jordan (4) ran routes and finished catches during period work. Tight ends Shane King (80) and Arthur Ban (86) were both seen tracking the ball in route drills.

The trenches worked on contact and cohesion, with offensive lineman Tristan Bounds (71) taking part in hitting drills alongside Khalil Sanogo (76) and Rhino Tapa’atoutai (59), and later with Sione Tohi (56) and Isaac Perez (79). On the defensive side, Johno Price (21) showed finishing ability on a tackle rep, cornerback Zuri Watson (25) came down with a catch during route work, and linebackers such as Dominic Hanger (36) ran through movement and pursuit drills. Several defensive players also completed endurance and coordination exercises designed to build stamina late in the spring cycle.

Other individual work included coordination and contact reps by Wesley Yarbrough (0) and additional pushing drills between Kedrick Reescano (3) and Yarbrough. Head coach Brent Brennan was on the sideline consulting with staff throughout the practice, overseeing period timing and situational instruction as the team prepared for the final days of spring sessions.

In local sports and community notes from the same period, several hundred friends, family and community members attended an evening vigil for three-year-old Anna Garcia at Silverlake Park. About 100 middle school football players had the opportunity to meet and work with Arizona players, including host quarterback Noah Fifita. Meanwhile, the Tucson Sugar Skulls are set to face the New Mexico Chupacabras in a conference matchup inside Tucson Arena at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, and in baseball action Arizona was unable to capitalize despite 15 strikeouts over six innings by starter Smith Bailey in an 11-1 loss to KSU on April 18, 2026.
