Juan Cespedes, a 17-year-old MLB prospect, has set a record by swiping eight bases in a minor league game for the Los Angeles Angels’ Dominican Summer League team.
Record-Breaking Performance
Cespedes’ achievement is the most stolen bases ever recorded by a minor league player in a single game since at least 2005, according to MLB.com. He started the game with a walk and was able to steal second, third, and home. In his second plate appearance, he reached base on a throwing error and stole second but couldn’t make it past there.
